Grand Oriveti Supremacy Review

These IEMs have quite an energetic upper midrange, adding sparkle and clarity to natural instruments. However, be careful with source-matching, as using a very analytical source or certain tips like Spinfits can push it closer to that edge. On well-recorded tracks, mids shine with a lovely blend of detail and musicality. On more complex, congested passages, the Supremacy can show a bit of shoutiness or even slight congestion due to the forward midrange, especially with suboptimal source pairings in combination with poorly recorded labels.

Treble

The treble is airy and refined, offering enough sparkle to keep things lively without introducing harshness. It avoids aggressive peaks, preferring a smoother approach that still retains clarity. The EST drivers add a sense of air but don’t expect a Tia performance. Instead, the treble complements the rest of the spectrum, keeping long listening sessions fatigue-free. If you appreciate high-treble extension, note that the Supremacy does not really have it.

Technical Capability

The Supremacy is no slouch technically, though it isn’t chasing top-tier resolution or massive staging. Its imaging and layering are strong and that helps with the mid-forward signature. The soundstage is medium-sized, but I can’t label it “expansive”. However, it is well-proportioned, so you don’t feel catastrophic at all. It excels in presenting a natural, airy staging on simpler, more spacious arrangements, such as Imany, Buika, Melody Gardot, Ayo, etc. Push it too far with dense, aggressive material, and you’ll notice some limits in separation and ultimate clarity. Still, for most genres and listening sessions, it remains a nice candidate.

Comparison

vs. 64 Audio Volür ($2,499 USD)

Compared to the 64Audio Volür, the Grand Oriveti Supremacy presents a more balanced and natural tuning, while the Volür leans toward a more dynamic presentation with better end-to-end extension.

The Supremacy’s bass is less impactful, with a softer sub-bass presence and a more mid-bass-focused warmth that adds body to instruments. In contrast, the Volür delivers greater sub-bass depth and slam, making it a more energetic option for EDM and bass-heavy tracks. The midrange on the Supremacy takes center stage, with a forward, natural tonality that brings vocals and acoustic instruments to the forefront. Meanwhile, the Volür’s mids feel slightly recessed in comparison, emphasizing clarity and separation rather than warmth or musicality.

Treble performance is another area where these IEMs differ. The Supremacy opts for a smoother treble with a focus on fatigue-free listening, while the Volür, with its Tia driver, extends higher, offering more energy and air up top. This gives the Volür a greater sense of space and airiness. When it comes to technical capabilities, the Volür pulls ahead with its faster bass, wider soundstage, and better PRaT. The Supremacy, though more intimate in its soundstage width, it maintains excellent imaging and separation for most genres.

With such nice words for this IEM I had expected it to go to the ‘best gear’ page. Wouldn’t you say it is more than good enough for that? I’m about to pull the trigger for an order, but don’t know if it’s a save buy.
